My name is Sigei.
My daughters and I came to Emily’s place 2 years ago fleeing from an abusive marriage. What joy, blessing and a miracle to be joined to this amazing family! Prior to coming here, I was in a dark emotional state, feeling heartbroken and hopeless. Fear had gripped me and spent sleepless nights contemplating how to get out of the “mess” my daughters and I were facing. I prayed to God to make a way out. We longed for a safe place. A place where we could break free from abuse and dysfunction to experience God’s plan, purpose and power of restoration.
Emily’s Place was our salvation, a miracle and God answered prayer. What a transformation the past 2 years has been for us! We experienced (and still do) so much love, so much outpouring of support and positive impact from everyone; starting with the visionary Mr. & Mrs. Mark Hagan, Mrs. Lori Conley (CEO), the staff, volunteers, Legacy church and the community at large. We felt so special ..it was almost unreal and hard to wrap my head around what the power of community can do. We will never be the same again!
Looking back on our journey full of wonderful memories, through it all it was well worth the patience and perseverance. It took a lot of work and soul searching with the help of professional guidance, grace, and faith in God to finally emerge anew. Holding my head high again with a broad smile on my face is priceless!
I graduated the program a few months ago fully equipped with tools and resources to navigate life again, to make wise decisions and break the cycle of domestic abuse for my daughters and I. (Yay & Amen to that)!
I am humbled and proud to hang my Emily’s place certificate and always encouraged to read the scripture on it from Jer 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord..”plans to prosper you, plans to give you hope and a future”.
I owe so much to Emily’s place for all the accomplishments I have made. I know I couldn’t have done it without them. I will always give back in any way I can. I am proud to be part of Emily’s place family. My God continue to guide and bless them always…
