Two-thirds of Emily's Place residents are children who have survived horrific domestic abuse situations. Today each child on our campus receives culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care that includes therapeutic, developmental, and family-restoration components. Family activities strengthen trust between parent and child. Licensed counselors help children understand the trauma they have experienced and provide them with appropriate problem-solving skills. And access to quality daycare, schools, and developmental programming builds social, behavioral, and academic capabilities.
