Two generous organizations recently awarded Emily’s Place grants to support a key part of the Children’s Program – Camp Emily. Camp Emily began in 2021 as a weeklong summer camp for the children of Emily’s Place residents and program graduates. The camp provides engaging programming, activities to strengthen parent-child bonds, health screenings, dental services, new clothing, and school supplies. Since then, Camp Emily has expanded to include monthly events/outings as well as extended camps during school holidays,
providing child victims of domestic violence with more opportunities to learn, heal, and have fun. A $5,000 check from the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) Southeast Division Community Grant Program and $1,000 from Richardson Woman’s Club Charitable Foundation will help make this important programming possible.
