On Thursday, March 16, members of the Women’s Inclusion Network at Central Market treated Emily’s Place residents to an evening of good food and fellowship. The evening started at 6 with a delicious family-style group dinner of lasagna, salad, and bread. Then after dinner, while volunteers provided childcare, the women gathered for a special program presented by our visiting food professionals. Everyone enjoyed the interactive cooking demonstration focusing on how to prepare meals that are quick, inexpensive, and nutritious. Residents also received information about affordable food staples that people can use to sustain their families. What a fun, informative evening it was!
